Meet Judge Nix
Judge Mikaela Nix graduated from the University of Central Florida with honors. Judge Nix was the president of the UCF Alumni Association Black Alumni and Founding Member of the UCF Blue Key Honor Society. After graduating with her B.A. in Political Science, she attended Florida A&M Law School where she was a member of the Moot Court team. Following law school, Judge Nix was admitted to the Florida Bar and the United States Tax Court.
As a judge who is willing to serve the people, she is firm but compassionate, gives proper judgement under the law and understands that people make mistakes in life. Judge Nix respects the rule of the law and believes in equal access to everyone.

A Family Legacy of Faith and Determination
Getting to know Mikaela requires going back to 1887 in the small rural community of Rochelle, FL, just outside of Gainesville. Mikaela’s great (5x) grandfather chose the last name “Hall” because those were the only three letters he could write.
A trailblazer who refused to be defined by his legal status shortly after the Civil War, he took the money he had and built a church that began the legacy of the Hall family with a deep faith and a determination to succeed.
Today, her family still lives off the land running a small organic beef farm. The Hall women were also pioneering, many achieving advanced college degrees long before it was common for women or women of color to do so.
